本種は神奈川県と鹿児島県でイロハモミジやタブから得られた4メスを元に記載された。最近、多数のメスがイヌツゲ（ミチノキ科）の葉から得られた。

This species was described based on four females obtained from Acer planatum and Machilus thunbergii in Kanagawa Prefecture and Kagoshima Prefecture in Japan. Recently, many females were taken from the leaves of Ilex crenata[Aquifoliaceae].
